Welcome to long runs!
I’m James Beattie, the founder of Long Runs. I created the site back in 2021 after completing the Barcelona Marathon. I wanted somewhere online where I could document my races and the progression of my running. I also found that when I was looking online there wasn’t much in-depth information about the specific races I wanted to take on.
Long Runs has now become a race and gear review site. After selling one of my previous businesses I have decided I want to go for a sub-3-hour marathon. Quite a long way away from my initial marathon time of 4:24 and along the way I’m going to be participating in quite a few marathons and half marathons. I’m going to be giving my in-depth review of these events so you know what race suits you best next.
You can check out all of the marathons I have personally participated in along with my times here. I’m currently a bang-average runner but have been progressing nicely over 2023 while training for the Paris Marathon. Let’s see how long it takes to reach that sub-3 level.
In the future, I also hope to include features from other runners around the world. If you have recently completed a marathon and want to document your journey on the site, you can do so by filling out the form below. Your work will be featured on the site for others to read and understand what the specific marathon you ran is like.
